‘People’s History’ author Howard Zinn dead at 89

(CNN) — Noted author and social activist Howard Zinn died of a heart attack Wednesday while traveling, his daughter, Myla Kabat-Zinn, said.
Zinn, author of “A People’s History of the United States,” was 89. Kabat-Zinn said her father, who lived in Auburndale, Massachusetts,” died while traveling in Santa Monica, California.

Haiti donations exceed $200 million

Target’s “Illegal Alien” Costume Causes Outrage

LOS ANGELES– An immigrant rights group has asked Target stores to stop selling an illegal alien costume they describe as “offensive” to immigrants and “ignorant.”
The costume, sold on Target’s web site, features a mask of an extraterrestrial being, wearing an orange jumpsuit with “illegal Alien” written on it, and a “green card” accessory.
