Removal of Bless Me, Ultima

In response to complaints from one parent, Rudolfo A. Anaya’s award-winning novel Bless Me, Ultima (1972) was removed from the sophomore required reading list which has been part of the sophomore curriculum at “Orestimba High School” for more than a decade.

Fanatic hijacked Mexican plane after ‘revelation’

MEXICO CITY – A Bolivian religious fanatic briefly hijacked a jetliner from the beach resort of Cancun as it landed in Mexico City on Wednesday, police said. All passengers and the crew were released unharmed.
